David Bowie saw Mick Ronson perform at London’s Rainbow Theatre on 22 February 1974.
It was Ronson’s debut solo show, and the first of two consecutive nights at the venue. He was backed by Mark Pritchett on guitar, Trevor Bolder on bass, Mike Garson on keyboards, Ritchie Dharma on drums, and a horn section.
When I did the Rainbow, I don’t know if it was good or bad. I think I wanted to do it. Maybe I should have hung on for a while. I think, maybe I shouldn’t have done it in some ways. But I wanted to, and what’s happening now, with this band, is happening as a result of those concerts and that experience.
