David Bowie’s final recording session of 1973 was producing The Astronettes on 30 December 1973.
At Olympic Sound Studios they worked on a recording of the Beach Boys’ ‘God Only Knows’, which Bowie would cover on his 1984 album Tonight. This arrangement was by Tony Visconti, with whom Bowie had recently resumed work.
The Astronettes sessions continued until 15 January 1974, but were shelved until 1995 when they were released on the album People From Bad Homes.
