David Bowie performed at an open air festival at Queensmead Recreation Ground in Bromley on 4 July 1970.
Bowie was backed by Hype, but was heretofore billed live as a solo act.
The event was organised by Fleetwood Mac’s recently-departed frontman Peter Green. Also appearing were Clark Hutchinson, Skin Alley, Rungk, Bubastis, Aslan, and High Tide. Rungk’s guitarist Mark Pritchett also performed with Hype and Bowie’s subsequent bands, and Skin Alley’s Nicky Graham also played piano for Bowie during part of the Ziggy Stardust era.
