David Bowie and the Spiders From Mars performed at Stoke-on-Trent’s Top Rank Suite on 7 September 1972.
It was the 58th date of the Ziggy Stardust tour, which had begun on 29 January 1972.
This was Bowie’s final UK show until December. The following week he set sail on the QE2 for his first American tour, which opened in Cleveland, Ohio on 22 September.
