David Bowie and the Spiders From Mars performed at Newcastle’s Mayfair Ballroom on 24 March 1972.
It was the 17th date of the Ziggy Stardust Tour, which had begun on 29 January. The support acts on this occasion were Armada and Patch.
Bowie had originally been scheduled to perform at the Mayfair Ballroom on 27 February, but it was postponed to this date. He returned to the venue with Tin Machine two decades later on 5 November 1991.
