David Bowie was interviewed for Creem magazine on Tuesday 2 February 1971.
The interviewer was Dave Marsh, and the exchange took place at Bowie’s hotel, a Holiday Inn on Grand Boulevard, Detroit. As they spoke Charlie Auringer took photographs for the magazine.
Bowie was in the city as part of his month-long promotional tour of the USA, which began on 23 January and ended on 18 February.
