David Bowie performed at the Three Tuns pub in Beckenham for the 21st time on 23 November 1969.
This was one of the Sunday night shows known as Growth – the Beckenham Arts Lab. Bowie had helped set up and run the events, which began on 4 May 1969, but towards the end of the year he was focusing on his solo shows. Indeed, he had not performed at the Three Tuns since 12 October.
