David Bowie auditioned to take part in an advertisement for the Kit Kat chocolate bar on 9 May 1969.
The audition took place at 61 Kinnerton Street in Belgravia, London. Although he visited the J Walter Thompson advertising agency on 14 May to discuss the part, Bowie was ultimately unsuccessful.
