Live performances

By May 1972, a month before the album’s release, ‘Ziggy Stardust’ was part of the Spiders From Mars’ live set. It was performed during the Ziggy Stardust Stage, Sound + Vision, summer 2000, Heathen and Reality tours.

The song was the second to be performed during Ziggy’s farewell show at London’s Hammersmith Odeon on 3 July 1973.

Two versions of ‘Ziggy Stardust’ were included in the Bowie At The Beeb collection. Initial pressings mistakenly twice included a version recorded on 16 May 1972, forcing EMI to issue replacement CD-Rs containing the 18 January 1972 recording.
